Swedish Death Cleaning

Minimalism and Essentialism has been on my mind more and more lately. What happens with all our stuff after we live our life has been a common thought. Both with family, and with my own things. The concept of Swedish death cleaning is interesting.

Notes on Managing ADHD

One of the best write-ups I have seen with recommendations on managing ADHD. Both in terms of strategy and tactics.

I especially appreciate the “Chemistry First” callout. Which is often overlooked.

Self-hosting Frustrations

I love self-hosting. Both at home and in the context of running a VPS or dedicated machine with your “own” software. I hate when things break or you forget about a gotcha.

The ability to customize and control and relatively own your data is great. Spending your night resolving an issue or having to think through a design is both a great experience and constant source of frustration to me.

The ease of paying someone to deal with all of this is great. The tradeoff of loss of control and options stinks. Yet those of us that opt for this path continue to do so.

At least I learn things along the way.

Cheat.sh

When you use a bunch of CLI tools you end up making your own cheatsheets in your PKM system. For me, this is Obsidian. I’ve got all sorts of snippets and short notes in there realted to useful commands or usage.

cheat.sh is a fantastic resource to reference and discover useful usage patterns.

Been a fan of various themes for terminal emulators, TUIs, and GUI apps for a while. My latest favorite has been Flexoki from Steph / Kepano.
